Featured review
Volume 125 of this never-ending series pleased me with its fairly amazing cast, not just the featured sex performers but many brief but interesting cameos. It's fun to pick out the uncredited guest players, and their presence does add to the overall success of the feature.
Two very big and still relatively young stars lead off the show in a "fall- back" sex scene, as Dani Daniels has just broken up with her lover, and her mom Anissa Kate acts as impromptu matchmaker, wanting her to hook up with Anikka Albrite (what mother wouldn't?). Of course it takes a leap of faith to imagine French mega-star Kate as Dani's mom, but I really appreciated seeing Anissa not in gonzo form but handling her improvised English well and actually coming off as an honest-to-goodness real person for a change instead of a "sex goddess". Sort of like watching Sofia Vergara on TV.
Anikka's mom is played by India Summer, also a stretch but quite welcome to see. She has a crush on a straight girl in class, so this all dovetails well with the hot Anikka/Dani sex scene. With guest stars and plenty of exposition, this first vignette takes up nearly a full hour of running time. There's a charming sequence where Anissa keeps insisting that the two girls go "to the other place", meaning the boudoir, and they do.
Second vignette is aimed at long-time Girlfriends Films fans, as it dwells on the anti-religious content that permeates many of the label's videos. Cherie DeVille visits and is all broken up about some scandalous behavior that's upsetting her fellow church-goers. Guest star Valentina Nappi is an Elder of their church (foolish me, I thought she was Catholic!) and Bree Daniels also pops up briefly in a heart-on- sleeve soap opera segment. It all ends up with Cherie humping Hayden Night, who has put on some pounds but is still eminently beddable - just ask Cherie.
Lovable Elle Alexandra beds down with venerable MILF Phoenix Marie after another notable cameo, Riley Reid in bunk bed in a school dorm setting. This vignette is styled as a masturbation fantasy, hardly out of place in that the entire feature is a masturbation fantasy when you get right down to it.
Finale is extremely offbeat, in bringing back Cindy Craves, who has been making Girlfriends appearances for a decade and is still going strong in her 50s. (IMDb has her (erroneously) featured as "Bubbles" in an all-black video from West Coast Prods. I saw back in the VHS days, so her credits need some revising.) Angie, another mature actress who I could not place, visits Cindy to intercede on behalf of her son, who was involved in a car accident and is on the verge of being arrested by the police.
Cindy relents to help out and not press charges in return for sexual favors. This fairly dramatic vignette plays well with its "real people having sex" unglamorized look, but shows how the series has strayed from its original format. The title referred to an opening montage (back circa 2002) of classified ads, literally "women seeking women".
