This is only the first episode but it is already looking as if this series is going to degrade into a standard paint-by-numbers crime show. There was certainly nothing to hook you in and make you want to come back for more. If you're the sort of person who likes to watch shows while multi tasking and engaging on your mobile with social networking then is one of those shows that will suit you because there's no intricate plot details that you need to pay attention to. Miss a few minutes and go make a cup of coffee, you won't miss anything important. All in all it's gonna be a case of the week story, progressed on the thinnest of leads and solved just at the 40th minute with a random clue. Seen it all before.

I have mixed emotions about this first episode.

Watching the lead FBI investigator go into the animal hospital alone, with no backup is a big negative. There is no excuse for this, even if they were trying to keep the "hunt" low key.

Then there is missing the signs at the home of the previous victim. They knew the killer was fond of a certain decoration, and afterwards they show dozens of items in the home with this decoration. What kind of profiler misses the obvious?

Last is the whole secret prison angle. Sounds like one of the lesser 90's Candian dramas, which is what I think the writers viewed growing up. The main writers only have a handful of previous writing jobs, so maybe they reverted to what they saw in their childhood.

I will give it one more shot in February, when it returns.

I like it enough to give it another chance. I love the concept. I wish they'd show more of that prison ... Looks like that could be a show of is own. Hopefully they'll show it more.

The fact that I can't write a short review is ridiculous. I really don't have much more to say, so I have to type and type and type until I have enough. Still not there yet ... I forgot about the character minimum ... That's why I don't do reviews. I just remembered that. This is quite annoying ... I was done, nothing else to say, but I have to keep going on and on and on ... Thirty two more characters to go... Yay!!!!
