A young black couple were enjoying a bucket of fried chicken while the man found out there were two pieces less than what he had paid. His girlfriend told him to let it go, but he came back to fast food where a robbery was taking place. The robbing went bad, a bystander is shot dead by a stray bullet and the muggers managed to run away in a stolen car with a hostage. They are both masked so not easy to be ID by the witnesses, anyway policemen catch one perp (wounded in the belly) with 600 bucks in his pocket; he appears to be a sharp man, not saying anything without a signed agreement. Brooks and Devlin engaged a race against the clock to collect evidences in 24 hours, only to discover the other perp and the hostage (Victor Gardener) are both murdered.
In this episode there's a challenge in which part is better in playing the laws. We can see lying under oath for the greater good. Thorne engaged in a law trick battle against the defense attorney (Tamzin Outhwaite).
