Ring of Fire

The Police reluctantly call in Jasper, when a student is badly burned in a student house fire, and placed in an induced coma.

Definitely a show that I enjoyed, but one I didn't think for a moment we'd have had back for a second series, but here it is. I'm still of the opinion that this may have been better off going out in the afternoons, rather than prime time Friday night, it's more in line with Father Brown, Shakespeare and Hathaway.

The story is interesting enough, I liked the characters, the outcome worked rather well, and I also liked the development of Dan Winters' character, he was more interesting than in the last series. I thought this was something of a successful return, it was well made.

I don't think anyone would argue that it's too difficult to work out who the offender is, but as a mystery it's appealing.

I think it's Frances de la Tour who stands out once again, that scene where she confronted Jasper's old flame about his need for therapy, that was excellent.

A very good return, 8/10.
