A vanity project in every sense. I've never understood why this sort of Under the Tuscan Sun thing is so fascinating. It's carpentry and plumbing, people. It might be a bit interesting if she had done it all on her own, but just like UTTS, she just orders around a bunch of workers.
Another bourgeois bore remodels an old villa. Yawn. This is so boring that I almost fainted five minutes into it. She doesn't speak much Italian and she seems totally clueless about all things Italian. So, my question is this: why would anyone care to hear her talk? The answer is that most people would rather not listen to her.
This reminds me of so many British TV programs in which a blabbermouth host walks through unscripted scenes where nothing interesting happens or will happen. I live in a place where people do this sort of thing every day. At least half of my friends live in remodeled homes and I had to pretend to listen to them talk about their problems. This show I can simply turn off.
