The Vultures

Tom Brewster comes across a woman (Faith Domergue) who is in an apparent state of shock after being attacked by some long haired man. He takes her to the nearby Army fort, where he finds that the Indians have cut down a considerable number, except for a captain (Richard Long) in the barracks who was charged with desertion by the woman's husband, the fort's colonel.

The captain appears to have some kind of relationship with the colonel's wife. When the colonel returns with a general and some other soldiers, Tom Brewster asks to act as the captain's defense counsel, as he feels nobody has told the truth yet about what really occurred.

Jealousy, cowardice, bravery, honour and being a gentleman is highlighted in this decent episode, which has a good idea, starts well with the deserted fort, but then becomes muddled. Tom Brewster makes a good hero, a rather different one from the usual cinematic hero- he's gangly, looks like a hillbilly and talks like one but he's sure intelligent and clever.
