I found "Legacy" a boring and pointless episode, with many inconsistent situations spread everywhere and none of them satisfactorily resolved. The romance of the mumbling crybaby Lana Lang and Clark Kent is very irritating. My vote is six.
Title (Brazil): "Legado" ("Legacy")
Jonathan Kent's heart problems are worsening. What's worse, the key calls out to him the way it did to Clark in the past. This causes an accident at the farm, prompting Clark to discover why Jor-El is calling out to his adoptive father. Searching for answers, he comes into contact with the evil Lionel Luthor in the caves, making Lionel even more suspicious of who Clark is and where he comes from. Lionel, knowing that Clark had met with Dr. Swann (Reeve) in the past, goes to New York to see if Swann will help him discover who Clark is. Swann refuses, but mysteriously offers Lionel a bit of assistance at the end of their conversation. Jonathan and Lionel end up in major conflict in the cave, and the key gets lost in the process, only to end up in unexpected hands by episodes' end.
This episode is one of the stronger ones of season three. Christopher Reeve brings so much credibility to the show, and the story gets closer to completely unveiling Lionel's evil intentions.
Lionel Luthor finds Clark in the cave & tells Lex that they need to get to the bottom of the Clark Kent mystery.
Throughout all of season 3, Lex has really been trying to protect Clark, Chloe & Lana. Give that man some love & some friends.
Clark's stupidity is getting unreal. The dude is always zooming away & expecting everyone to turn a blind eye at his sudden disappearance. Also, the way he accuses & attacks Lex is low-key pissing me off. He is on some Barry Allen-type (The Flash TV show) shite.
Clark & Lana share a kiss. Well, that just open an unhealthy can of worms. Smh. These people have got to stop with this relationship. It is toxic & unhealthy AF. Also, the way Lana went to Lex about Clark... she might as well get with Lex.
I am ready for this season to be over because I am so damn tired of Clark & Lana, the caves & the Kents. I am over here preparing myself for season 4 when Queen Lois Lane makes her presence known.

- Trivia"Rosetta" and "Legacy" marked Christopher Reeve's final film appearance before his death. Music from the original Superman (1978) film can be heard during his scenes.
- GoofsWhen Clark leans in to kiss Lana, his faces is tilted to his left, but as he makes contact his face is tilted to the right. {It is surprisingly obvious editing error as it is disorienting.)
- Quotes
Lionel Luthor: I believe that we're put on this Earth for a reason, Clark. Our task in life is to find out what that reason is. Sometimes we can't do that alone.
