A group of Russian athletes are staying at the hotel; and when two of them defect after meeting Amy and Cassie, the KGB and FBI get involved.
Thankfully, this episode is played for laughs and not drama, like the terrorist episode "Desperate Hours." I wonder if that's what Nancy was referring to when she mentions she doesn't want "a political powder keg" or "International incident."
Funny bits are Cassie being impressed that Amy has a man in her locker; when the KBG man refers to Nancy as "madam" and she says, "Call me Hostess;" and when Dot blurts out that Amy's pregnant, to cover for why she's holding a plate of food in the lounge.
Also very amusing are Sonny's Elvis impersonations, which drive the female athletes so crazy, he ends up scoring with several of them. One of them looks like Nancy McKeon on steroids.
Christopher McDonald (Alexi) would play Park Overall's husband Nick Todd on EMPTY NEST.
