Painfully unfunny

There is a cringing aspect to this one. I'm not sure if it creepy or just stupid. I can't imagine what the writers were thinking on this one . The end too when they scare Lucy and Ethel half to death after a ridiculous but well intended effort to help Ricky just seemed to go too far.

The idea was clever enough but poor execution.

Yes I know it's best not to overthink what's going on or take it too seriously. Certainly I have felt at times we need to lighten up but not every episode is good and some may deserve criticism or question what was considered funny. It's actually one of the few episodes I find particularly bad .

Goofs
The reporter fires off a list of questions, but the answers Lucy gives don't match up. When watching in real time, as the original audience did, no one was likely to notice. The Q&A goes like this: "Your Highness, is it true that Ricky Ricardo is your favorite vocalist?" "Yes." "Do you like any other American performers?" "No." "Well, let me see if I have this straight: you've never seen Ricky Ricardo in person, you first heard his records two years ago and you fell in love with his voice and decided to come to America to see him, your father didn't approve but you came anyway, and you can hardly wait to hear him sing. Is that right?" "Yes, no, yes, yes, yes, no and yes." There should be only four answers, all yes.
