A powerful episode a bit out of character for Highway to Heaven

A powerful episode a bit out of character for Highway to Heaven, where not everything gets wrapped up with a feel-good bow, and poetic justice is applied in the end.

The war on drugs was in full force in 1987, and it plays out here with a dead school student, high school drug dealers on a destructive path, incredulous school administration who have unwittingly become enablers, and just a little help from from an angel to create a thin silver lining in this darker tale.

"In with the 'In' Crowd" helps send a strong message to young viewers that drugs lead us on a dark path that too many never escape. Dealers don't care about anyone or anything except their money and their high, and not every addict will recover.

After the end this episode, we turn off the TV to think about the current state our country is in (both then and now), and to remember our loved ones and help keep them on the right track.
