Go ahead and find fault with this episode.

But I thoroughly enjoyed Jack Lord's passionate build-up to Antoinette Bower's beauty. And with his finesse, she appeared to melt as his steamy behavior continued.

A welcome change-of-pace where McGarrett's disguised appetite for sex ran parallel with crime fighting. Well done.

Great episode. A lot of fun.

In the captivating episode, "The Box," we witness the return of the talented Gerald S. O'Loughlin, portraying a character with the same name, Carl Swanson. He does such a great job that it does not matter. He delivers a stellar performance as Swanson, engaging seamlessly in a riveting dialogue with McGarrett. What truly shines is O'Loughlin's ability to captivate the audience, drawing us into the intricacies of his character.

The episode maintains a commendable up-tempo quality as the plot unfolds with gripping intensity. "The Box" is a great episode, offering viewers an engaging and entertaining experience.

Brilliant, caper-oriented episode

This is an exciting episode. It plays like a Mission: Impossible, except here the team goes to the dark side, aiming to pull off a heist. The direction is excellent, and you find yourself sort of rooting for the bad guys to pull off their caper! Antoinette Bower is very good, as is the bad guy who doesn't like Steve one bit. A very strong, well-written script for this outing.

Gerald S. O'Loughlin plays a character with the same name, Carl Swanson, as in the earlier episode The Box (1969). It would have made more sense if this episode had been run before the other.

Gaffes
Swanson's jacket had the words, "Muana Loa..." on the back. This was pronounced as "Mauna Loa..." and is a misspelling.
