    Marilyn Coleman as Bookman's wife

"Bye, Bye, Bookman" finds Nathan Milhous Bookman finally in the hot seat for his negligence, and our first glimpse of the much mentioned Mrs. Bookman, Marilyn Coleman as Violet, a firebrand when she doesn't have her way (one further appearance in "Willona, the Other Woman"). Tiring of waiting weeks for him to get things done, the Evans family sign a petition that ends up getting Bookman replaced. He and Violet lay a guilt trip on his 'favorite tenants,' even training his replacement (Mel Bryant) in a show of phony sportsmanship. Alderman Fred Davis (Albert Reed, third of six) is puzzled by the request to reinstate Bookman, but does not accept bribes; contributions yes, but no bribes!
