- TriviaAccording to the writer's commentary, the video for "My Lovely Horse" was based on a 1970s lifestyle video for the Swarbrigg song "That's What Friends are For," which they claim is the funniest music video of all time. Some of the shots are even copied down to every last detail.
- GoofsDick's performance at the national selection has a band and chorus, of a size which would violate a Eurovision rule that an act may have no more than six performers.
- Quotes
Father Dougal McGuire: Ready Ted? Let's do it!
Father Ted Crilly: Dougal, don't take it so seriously, it's just a bit of fun.
[Scene jumps forward to some time later. Room is filled with smoke and there is a cigarette hanging out of a stressed out Ted's mouth]
Father Ted Crilly: Just play the fucking note!
Father Dougal McGuire: The first one?
Father Ted Crilly: No not the fucking first one! The fucking first one's already fucking down! Just play the fucking note you were fucking playing earlier! I've been playing the fucking first one! We have the fucking first one!
Father Dougal McGuire: So i'll just...
Father Ted Crilly: Just play the fucking note you where fucking playing there! Fucking what you where just fucking doing! Play the fucking note!

I think my favourite scene has to be the video to the song, it's so wonderfully funny. It's clearly a nod and a joke to just how successful Ireland were in the Eurovision song contest at the time, they seemed to always put out a good song, and do very well. That is before the ESC turned into a political showpiece, with block voting.
Always great to see Father Dick Byrne and Cyril reappear.
My lovely horse..... It's a joy.
Much loved, 9/10.
