    ROB GETS BAR-B-QUED.

    10 Stars.

Carl Reiner did an excellent job writing this hilarious script, perfect material for Dick Van Dyke and his famous double takes.

Rob REALLY gets fooled when abrasive talk show host Ray Murdock (played to the hilt by Gene Lyons), kindly invites him on his show -- just to answer a few friendly questions -- which ends up with Rob poking fun at Laura. He didn't mean it, but it all comes out that way.

The best part; Rob trying to keep Laura from watching the dreaded interview. MUST SEE. Try dancing the night away to kill some time? A mini DVD classic. I agree with the last reviewer, a reversal of fortune from a previous episode, where Laura appeared on tv and got tricked into admitting Alan Brady was bald.

Gene Lyons, a long time friend of Raymond Burr, is best remembered as Commissioner Randall on IRONSIDE. At one time, he dated Grace Kelly.

Memorable sitcom writing, acting and dancing TOO. Dick and Mary Tyler Moore make the best team ever.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 18 remastered. 5 dvd set. Released 2003. Now on blu ray for a new generation of fans.

Rob shoots off his big mouth!

Rob is invited to appear on a controversial talk show, "Ray Murdock's X-Ray". He has no desire to go on this program and is afraid the host will barbecue him. However, Ray assures Rob the interview will be friendly, and Rob foolishly agrees to be on the show. Not surprisingly, the interview ISN'T friendly and Rob ends up talking about the dopey things Laura has done. When he realizes what he's done, he's sure Laura will kill him! So, his plan is to keep her from watching the show and hoping no one tells her about the botched interview.

It's interesting that a later episode features Laura on a talk show...and spilling the beans about Alan Brady being bald! Here is Rob's chance to be stupid..she'll get hers later!

So is it any good? Yes. Fortunately, unlike many other Laura and Rob episodes, Laura is more reasonable and she had every right to be angry...yet she seemed less angry than you'd expect...which I like. Overall, a very cute and enjoyable episode.
