    Solid episode

Bird man and Haggis what is that? Dempsey and Makepeace are going to find out with the help of some surveillance and undercover work. Dempsey ends up as a pilot for a crook, but during a scuffle with the crook in a De Havilland DH114 Heron 2D at the finale sends him in the air clinging on the bad guy with a parachute. It's an exciting sequence and so is Makepeace's dilemma of flying the plane alone. There's some easy conveniences in the plot, but hey it's a fast-paced piece of entertainment that grabs your attention.

    Given to Acts of Violence

The action packed first series continues. A man is gunned down at night outside a pub. Despite the murder being witnessed, the witness refuses to identify the killer in court. He has obviously been got at.

The culprit is Frank Egan who is back on the streets having beaten the murder rap. Dempsey and Makepeace keeps tabs on him and find out what he is planning next.

Egan has set his sights on an audacious heist to steal Scottish currency that has been used in England and being flown back to Scotland.

Makepeace has to go undercover as a floozy and she finds herself nearly going all the way with a mark who has arrived from America. Dempsey knows how to fly a plane. I presume he served in the air force in Vietnam.

There is an audacious skydiving stunt and Makepeace finds herself stranded on a plane without a pilot.

    • Trivia
The plane which plays a pivotal role in this story, a De Havilland DH.114 Heron 2D, was decommissioned in 1988 after 34 years in service. It is now mounted on display outside Airport House at the former Croydon Airport in South London and is clearly visible when driving past on Purley Way.

[Makepeace glances at him but does not laugh]
