Forced Perspective

Once again Andromeda is in need of new parts; this time Dylan and Trance are off shopping leaving Beka and Tyr alone on Andromeda. Not surprisingly things don't do according to plan; he is snatched by forces from the Planet Mobius and questioned about a mission he led before taking command of Andromeda. In a series of flashbacks we see how Dylan and Gaheris Rhade, his second officer who would go on to betray him in the opening episode, go to Mobius and meet up with an architect who want Commonwealth help removing a despot. Now that man is the leader and he is as bad as his predecessor. Over the course of the episode we see how that mission didn't quite go to plan and learn how the man they helped is still alive three hundred years later. Meanwhile back on Andromeda the sexual tension rises between Beka and Tyr despite the latter saying he has no interest in humans.

This episode was rather interesting as it showed us Dylan and Gaheris Rhade's first meeting then working together before they were post posted to the Andromeda. The mission provided some exciting moments. More questions are asked of Trance as she finds Dylan when her only lead is a button torn from the uniform of one of his captors. The scenes between Tyr and Beka provide some light relief as each tries to pretend they aren't attracted to each other. Harper and Rev Bem are missing for this episode but that doesn't affect he story; their absence is explained... less obvious is why Rommie barely features. Overall a solid enough episode with some interesting character development for Dylan and Trance.
