    Definitely worth a flyer

I see the bad reviews on here of this movie and want to highlight its good aspects because it is not a horrible movie. I will admit that my rating is skewed a little because I caught it on Amazon Prime recently, which doesn't have much of a selection and is full of junk. This movie is far from junk. I do feel that it falls into the trap of not catering to a wide audience. As someone who has been in several bands and once had a dream similar to that of the main character, I found myself attracted to the movie. While the plot is pretty far fetched, it is relate-able to anyone who has ever been in a garage band. If you don't take this movie seriously and are looking for an odd movie to be better than average background noise, you could do a lot worse than this movie. I probably won't watch it again but it will definitely come up in conversation and be recommended to my friends because it was a little too real.

not a piece of work demonstrating anything

Monday Night Gig is not a film that should have been exposed to the public. Really. Most independent film patrons can take rough cinematography/audio or even extremely bad acting, but these bits and pieces of gibberish are beyond limits of words. Presenting this is an insult to anyone looking for something interesting or experimental in the way of film. The actors reputations were at the very least damaged. Shame on whoever wasted the time mounting this, that someone spent time and money, but why they let it loose on the public is the question I walked away with. Pointless film making is what can result from camera's running without thought. Lets not let this happen to much, otherwise the independent film movement is in real trouble.

    • Trivia
Matt Higgins was originally asked to play the role of Tom 2 but could not commit to the full shoot so then he was offered the role of J.R. "Bob" Maxwell. He was unable to do this role either. A photo of Matt Higgins from his role of Paul Schmall in The Sexy Chef (2002) was used as one of the band's album covers being burned in the backyard.
