We've hit the last Friday of 2024. Should late-night TV fans expect to celebrate with one final episode of Real Time with Bill Maher?
It's been another eventful year, and Bill Maher has been in the thick of all of it. He covered the election in his signature style, then threated to walk away from Real Time if he had to continue talking about President Donald Trump.
But we all know that Maher isn't going anywhere. However, he won't be on the air tonight. There will not be a new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher on December 27.
The holiday earlier this week kept late-night TV off the air. Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, and the rest have all packed in for 2024. Maher is no different, execpt for the fact he's been on vacation for a little longer.
Real Time with Bill Maher season 22 wrapped up back in November.

Bill Maher has set a new comedy special at HBO titled “Is Anyone Else Seeing This?”
Set to debut in January, it marks Maher’s 13th stand-up hour for the network. Maher, the host of HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher” and the “Club Random” podcast, will tape the special in front of a live audience at the Cibc Theater in Chicago.
“I almost called this special ‘You Won’t Feel Safe,’ because if you’re purely a team player in American politics, you won’t,” Maher said in a statement. “This one is for the 80% of Americans who want to see crazy called out no matter where it comes from. And the last 20 minutes on my sex life, that’s for everybody.”
Executive producers for “Bill Maher: Is Anyone Else Seeing This?” are Maher, Marc Gurvitz, Marcus Raboy and Neal Marshall. Rhonda Freeson serves as producer.

Streaming service Max offers content from HBO, Discovery Channel, Cartoon Network, Warner Bros Pictures and other Warner Bros Discovery-owned brands.
Sling TV customers have access to HBO’s multiplex of channels once again after the Echostar-owned streaming service announced a deal to offer Max to its subscribers.
Starting this week, Sling TV customers can purchase the ad-free version of Max for $17 per month, unlocking access to hit shows and movies like “Game of Thrones,” “Succession,” “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” “Real Time with Bill Maher,” “Friends,” “Hacks,” “The Penguin,” “The Big Bang Theory” and more.
The $17 per month that Sling TV charges for Max is the same price that customers would pay if they purchase Max directly from the service, but with one important difference: Those who purchase Max through Sling will also get streaming access to eight HBO linear channels, just as they would if they purchased HBO via cable or satellite.

Bill Maher has had strong words about Donald Trump in the run-up to the 2024 presidential election, but now he’s comparing the Republican nominee to disgraced TV star Bill Cosby. “This is our last show before the last show before the election, so just know that if Trump does win, he will be the oldest president ever, passing even Joe Biden, and remember what a bunch of laughs that was,” the comedian said in the episode of Real Time With Bill Maher airing on Friday, October 25. “Yeah, let’s do that again, but with a sex criminal…. It would be like rebooting The Cosby Show with Bill Cosby.” Elsewhere in his opening monologue, Maher noted that Halloween is around the corner. “I’ve already seen so many people out, wearing crazy makeup and trying to scare people — what Trump calls campaigning,” he said. But Maher took shots at Vice President Kamala Harris,...

In a lengthy “New Rules” segment on Friday on “Real Time With Bill Maher,” the talkshow host laid into Chappell Roan, addressing an open letter to the singer and her political statements.
“New rule to mark the Oct. 7 anniversary: We must launch a campaign to educate young Americans about the Middle East,” he began as he described his own version of the history of Israel and Palestine. He went on to say that Roan doesn’t seem to understand that despite her support for Palestine, she would face danger in the Mideast. “Chappell, if you think it was repressive growing up queer in the Midwest, try the Mideast. You’re a female drag queen and you sing ‘I fucked you in the bathroom when we went to dinner at your parents.’ That wouldn’t fly in Gaza, although you would, straight off a roof.”

Amber Ruffin did not need to be convinced to join CNN’s new comedy-news talk series “Have I Got News for You.” In fact, her role on the show — which is to joke about the news with Roy Wood Jr. and Michael Ian Black — is what she says she’d be doing anyway. So why not spend her Fridays talking about Trump in front of cameras?
Ruffin wasn’t familiar with the British version when she was approached to star in CNN’s show – “They have so many panel shows over there. We don’t do that unless it’s five angry women in the morning,” she quipped – but she was immediately game. “It’s the lightest lift that has ever lifted,” she told TheWrap. “Because if you think about it, sitting around and talking about the news was what I was going to be doing anyway, and odds are...
