Looks like we're not heading back to the prehistoric days in the near future.
"The Flintstones" reboot from "Family Guy" mastermind Seth MacFarlane is on hold. As first reported by Deadline.com, and since confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, MacFarlane's "Flintstones" reboot won't launch in 2013 as originally planned in order to accomodate MacFarlane's schedule, the reports claim.
Fox announced "The Flintstones" as a straight to series project in May 2011 after MacFarlane and co. won the rights to the classic '60s Hanna-Barbera cartoon. The cartoon aired from 1960-1966 on ABC. "The Flintstones" had several spinoffs and animated specials since, the most recent of which, "The Flintstones: On The Rocks" aired in 2001. Dan Palladino and Kara Vallo will serve as executive producers alongside MacFarlane on the new cartoon.
“The very first cartoon character I drew at age two was Fred Flintstone," MacFarlane said in a statement when the project was initially announced.
