    A little known foreign great

As far as movies on sex slavery, involving teens prostitution goes, this movie is HE-AVY. and doesn't hold back on the brutality, these sex traffickers show, who entertain clients over card cards, before going up with their chosen girl. Within the new batch of girls, some are well under age, you'll notice while riding the elevator, after being procured. Later on these girls wind up in a big two story place, which is their new home, where they're kept prisoner as whores, entertaining some real dirty old men. Among them is one girl Joy (not a fictional character), through which the story is told. Be warned, some moments of this films are shocking, one involving a shooting which accidentally leads to the death of one of the girls, the tragic result, of a rival gang of pimps. Unlike a lot of these flicks, this one doesn't hold back on the sex, especially, which kind of makes it sleazy, with tasty appeal, for eye ogling viewers. The film starts with a raid, where police swarm into the house and the girls are taken into police custody. Joy recounts her time of abuse in the house, while in interrogation, where she slowly comes around, in agreeing to testify, where the movie flashes back and forth. The end result is a well made and bloody effective, pull no punches movie on the subject, which will confront some, if sickeningly shock or appall. The movie is well acted by all, where it really shows the heartlessness of these vicious pimps and procurers, some of the most evil ones you'll see, who don't mind getting rough, where humanity means very little to them. This little known indie film, a bold one at that, I highly recommend you should see, just it for it's brazen telling of this subject, that doesn't hide, as if in it's efforts to not shock, which this movie surely does. It will stay with for a couple of weeks. You recognize the Mama San too, as the woman of the dry cleaning establishment in American Psycho.

A True Drama of One Poor Third World Girl

The Canadian police force breaks into a whorehouse and arrests the brothel security guys, pimps and prostitutes. The very young girl `Joy' calls the attention of the detective in charge of the investigation. He approaches to her and after some talking, she starts telling him the misadventure of he life, since when her own father sold her to the brothel in Manila (Philippines), the loss of the virginity for an old and fat client, her regular customers and the incidents including murder in the brothel. The detective tries to convince her to testify against the responsible for the whorehouse. Although the plot is based on true facts, this movie is not a documentary, but indeed a powerful drama. I believe the intention of Jim Purdy was to show what happens with young girls from Third World countries (in this movie, Canton, Vietnam, Philippines, and other Third World countries, `the whore United Nations' as referred by one whore when having breakfast with the others). There are many mobs in the world kidnapping or buying children including for prostitution and the First World Nations close their eyes and let it go. The sad story and end of Joy (I believe this nickname was a joke) belong to a countless number of children in the world. My vote is eight.
