Set Free

Much of the cast was selected on the day they were filmed. Non of the locations were pre-scouted, the crew showed up on the day and figured out where they would shoot each scene on the day. The 3 page scene with Manny and Oscar was supposed to be shot over 3 hours using the Red 1MX camera. By the time the crew got to that scene the sun was going down, and they were losing light. The director and cast only had about 30 minutes of light left to shoot the scene, so DSLRs were handed to the producer and they were instructed to shoot cross coverage while the Red camera shot the master.
