Ratan Talukdar was born in Myanmar in 1957, January 28th. His father, Dr Adhir Ranjan Talukdar was a Medical doctor working for the British Army in Myanmar. They relocated to Chittagong, Bangladesh in 1965.
Ratan Talukdar started Martial arts in the 70s and was a big fan of Martial Arts films. The first film he acted in was Bir Purush (1988). He made his name in Bojro Mushti (1989) and acted in about 15 films. He also played one of the main roles as ''Ilias'' in Lompot (1996). He also worked as a fight director for some films. He often worked with Rubel, Humayun Faridi, Ilias Cobra. Most of his movies are directed by Shahidul Islam Khokon. His stage name is Mong Tatui.
Recently, Ratan Takuldar dedicated his career to martial arts in Southeast Asia as one of the leading instructors on the continent. He obtained a 7-degree Black belt from WUKF and many others. He is Honke Shotokan Karate-Do Association Bangladesh's founder and Chief coach and Vice-Chairman of the Bangladesh Karate Referee Association.
