Sachiththa Fernando

Sachiththa Fernando is a composer and a music producer for film and media from Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has a cinematic orchestral style and is an accomplished producer of realistic orchestral music via digital means.
Apart from being a composer, he is a pianist, violinist and a baritone. He studied piano under Mrs. Ruvini Hapugalle, singing under Mrs. Menaka de Fonseka Sahabandu & subsequently with Mrs. Naomi Gunaratne, violin under Mr. Ananda Dabare and composition under Mr. Eshantha J. Peiris. Excelling not only in composition, he has been the recipient of multiple awards as an instrumentalist at ABRSM prize givings as well as at several music festivals.
In 2014, he débuted as a composer when his original programme piece "Battle of the Space Warriors" for full orchestra was world premièred by the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka (SOSL). Since then, he has been writing music for films and other media.
He is the former leader of the Junior Symphony Orchestra (JSO) with what he had his début performance as a violinist in 2013, performing Bériot Violin concerto no. 9, Op. 104. He is currently the leader of the National Youth Orchestra (NYO) of Sri Lanka.
In the years 2014 and 2015, he also represented Sri Lanka in the Commonwealth Youth Orchestra (CYO) of the UK, as a violinist.
