Scott Toohey began his performance career in the early 1980s working in cabaret. He started his TV acting career in the late 1980s, working on Home and Away, A Country Practice, and later Police Rescue. His first feature film was The Sum of Us with Russell Crowe, Jack Thompson, and In God's Hands. He also worked on the TV miniseries Come in Spinner and later Hoges.
