Shaka Richardson

Chaka also known as SHAKA was born to Jesse & Wava. He is the eldest of two sons. Chaka lost his father at an early, very early age. & though he was very young, in that moment his mind & soul were changed. In a since he was born again. Connected & tethered like an umbilical. Something he instantly become deeply aware of & he would never be young again. Chaka grew up a military brat as his mother would join the Army to support her two boys. Living over seas without much English speaking television to watch Chaka began to watch a lot of rented films. He was fascinated by movies. How do they do that he always would wonder. little did he know he himself already had movie magic in him through his art. Chaka was drawing from the first time he picked up a pencil & his talent grew as he grew into a teenager. He began drawing & producing his own comic books. He would soon develop the thirst to see his characters come to life through live action films & animation. As he grew into a young man, & all the trials that come with it, he would leave Virginia, which is where his mother settled after there many years abroad, for the Art Institute of Atlanta where he would study Computer Animation. Chaka had many odd jobs after leaving the Art Institute but never forgot his love & desire for the movies. He would find himself on various movie sets as an extra. & roles on smaller productions. As the film industry begin to grow & boom in Georgia Chaka began to meet & work with many people whom were very well known & respected in the film industry. Some he can even call friend. They continue to encourage him & look forward to working with him again. As does he. Directing & writing is Chaka's ultimate goal in this magical industry. But truthfully there isn't nothing about the movie making process Chaka doesn't love. He's acted, been a PA & he's done lighting. He even films web series & indie films as a DP. With the networks he's made over the years Chaka is now getting the opportunity to write. & even go back to his roots of animating. He is looking forward to continuing to grow in this industry, make his mark & become mentioned among the greats whose work he has studied, watched & admired since his youth. & even the new kids on the block who are now making there history.
