Known as the "Jeweler to the Stars". He turned his jewelry store in Manhattan into the go-to store for the rich and famous seeking quirky and out-of-the ordinary jewelry, such as Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Victorian, Indian and 18th-century emeralds retrieved from shipwrecks. He specialized in antique jewelry bought from estates, auctions, dealers, etc., rather than buying new jewelry from the traditional suppliers. He was especially popular with actresses, and his jewels were often seen adorning high-profile celebrities at such events as Broadway premieres, the Oscars, the Tonys, the Emmys and the Golden Globes.
