Ramon Alcantara was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in the Dominican Republic. There, he began his journey in the performing arts under the mentorship of Wendy Queliz. From the age of seven, Ramon's participation in school plays opened doors for him to audition for his first professional musical theater production, "Escucha Mi Sueños." This groundbreaking play was notable for featuring a large cast of children with special needs in the Dominican Republic.
Inspired by Will Smith's remarkable performance in "The Pursuit of Happyness," Ramon developed a keen interest in acting on camera. In 2014, he took part in Manny Perez's Acting in Front of the Camera workshops 1 and 2, which ignited his passion for film acting and solidified his decision to move to Los Angeles, California, to pursue his career.
Before relocating, Ramon participated in two film festivals with the short film "Decision," which he starred in, wrote, directed, and produced based on true events. The film garnered several accolades, including awards for acting, producing, and Best Short Film by public vote at the Loyola Film Festival, as well as Best Short Film by jury vote at the Juvenile Catholic Film Festival in 2016.
In April 2018, Ramon moved to Los Angeles to chase his dreams in the entertainment industry. He graduated with a BFA in Cinema/Television with an Emphasis in Acting. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic and industry strikes, Ramon continues to audition, work diligently, and study under the renowned acting coach Tom Draper.
Ramon's primary goal is not only to be another artist in the industry but to make a difference by innovating with the talent and skills he has been given. He is committed to learning from his experiences and those around him, aspiring to be an example and inspiration to others. Ramon believes that with focus and dedication, anyone can achieve their dreams.
