David Bisbal was born on 5 June 1979 in Almería, Spain. His father was
a boxer and he wanted his son to fight as well, but David preferred
music. After quitting school at the age of 18, he began to sing in a
small town band called "Orquesta Expresiones". In 2001, he appeared on
the three-month TV show Operación triunfo (2001), finishing second. After his first
album "Corazón Latino" had been released, it sold over 1 million units
in just months.
