Wadid Sirry(1915-1984)

Wadid Serry was a prominent Egyptian cinematographer. He began his career at "Studio Misr" as an assistant to cinematographer Mostafa Hassan. Later, he traveled to the United States, where he earned a degree in cinematography from the University of California, making him the first Egyptian cinematographer to receive academic training in the field there. Throughout his career, he shot around 80 films, including El Fetewa (1957), Lawet el hub (1960), Fi Baytena Ragul (1961), A Woman on the Road (1958), Soft Hands (1963), Saladin (1963), The Land of Hypocrisy (1968) and The Most Beautiful Days of My Life (1974). His son, Hisham Sirry, followed in his footsteps and became a cinematographer.
