The Raid director Gareth Evans is ready to unleash Havoc — but don’t worry, it won’t last too long, as Evans himself revealed that his next movie will have a runtime of 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Following his appearance at the Next on Netflix event this week, Gareth Evans confirmed the runtime of Havoc — the subject of some discussion and speculation as of late — would be a “tight one.” Posting on Instagram, Evans wrote, “Oh and to clarify as have seen rumours rumbling… the runtime for the film is a tight as a drum 1hr 45mins (Inc credits) and will be out this spring (sorry for being cryptic – I’m not allowed to say exactly when just yet!).” While we don’t have a release date, knowing that the runtime for the movie itself is likely somewhere around 1:40 or less is encouraging.

A specific premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but a new teaser trailer has dropped online that the show is coming soon. You can check it out in the embed above.

We won’t go into too many details here, but Ryan Lambie has previously offered a breakdown of Alien: Earth's last trailer which contains a few predictions and ideas of what to possible expect.

The Alien franchise started waaaaaay back in 1979, and has had its ups and downs since then. It's been getting a bit of its groove back in recent years with movies like Alien: Covenant and most recently Alien: Romulus, which came out last year. FX and Hulu are going to try and keep that role going with Alien: Earth, the first-ever Alien TV series set to air sometime this summer.
That release window comes courtesy of the show's new teaser trailer, which you can watch above. There's not a whole lot to say about the trailer itself; we don't get much in the way of footage I imagine will appear in the actual show. We see things through the point of view of an alien xenomorph as it careers through a CGI spaceship and peers through a window to behold...Earth! Oh s*it, that's where we live!

FX on Hulu has revealed the first official key art for Noah Hawley's upcoming Alien: Earth, which is set to premiere this summer (an exact date has yet to be announced).
The poster unveils a new breed of Xenomorph along with an ominous tagline: "We were safer in space"- a clear nod to the iconic words that leapt from the taser poster for Ridley Scotts original film, "In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream."
Although a teaser promo was released last year, we still know very little about the show beyond a brief logline (see below), but Hawley recently shared some intriguing new details about what will undoubtedly be the most important aspect of the project for many fans: the aliens.
Though the series is set in the (seemingly) safe confines of Earth before the events of the '70s classic, the titular acid-secreting creatures will still...

Of all the shows like "Justified" that are worth watching, "Karen Sisco" is the only one that deserves credit for launching the franchise. Granted, it did so unintentionally and happened years before FX's crime drama about Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) came to fruition. However, "Karen Sisco" has canonical connections to "Justified," and it's unfortunate that the series is largely forgotten due to it being one of many great shows that were canceled after one season.
Based on the Elmore Leonard character of the same name, "Karen Sisco" sees Carla Gugino play the eponymous U.S. Marshal as she solves crimes in Miami, Florida, while simultaneously trying to earn the respect of her peers and navigating a dating world full of men who can never guess her real job. While 2025 has begun with mixed reviews for humanity, Netflix is ready to help that get better. Throughout the year, the streaming giant will give us many films we do not want to miss. Below are just four of those.
Not listed is the Millie Bobby Brown vehicle, The Electric State, which is directed by the Russo Brothers. It takes place in an alternative 1990s when man and machine try to find peace. We mentioned Millie Bobby Brown was in it, right? Oh, Chris Pratt is in it, too.
The truth is that no matter what genre you like, you are going to find something to love on Netflix. The streamer has consistently produced excellence. Who are we to doubt it?

Netflix’s Terminator Zero anime is arguably the best Terminator project since the James Cameron movies, and there are plenty of things Terminator 7 can learn from it. While James Cameron has confirmed that he is working on a secret Terminator project, the status of Terminator 7 is unclear. However, assuming that a new Terminator film does happen eventually, it will have big shoes to fill after how well-received Terminator Zero was. With an 86% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, Terminator Zero is the franchise’s highest-rated movie or show since Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Terminator Zero takes place mostly two years after the events of Terminator 2, although it also includes scenes set in the near future. The anime series can be considered one of the many Terminator timelines and is not too worried about how it intersects with the movies. Instead, Terminator Zero tells a somewhat self-contained story that perfectly fits into that world.

Talk about a surprise. When Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (who has been acting professionally since her debut as Ariel in 1995’s Broadway revival of “The Tempest” opposite Patrick Stewart) arrived on the Louisiana set of “Nickel Boys” (Amazon/MGM/Orion), her documentarian-turned-feature-director RaMell Ross told her to do something she had never done before: Look straight into the lens, without a reverse angle on her co-star. She couldn’t see her fellow actors because their faces were obscured by the camera, just as their faces were hidden from the audience.
Watching the lauded critical hit “Nickel Boys” requires an adjustment to a strict point-of-view aesthetic. But Taylor-Ellis had to make it work on the ground, on the fly. The tightly scheduled period feature (budgeted at $20 million) left little time to figure it out.

Santa Clarita Diet creator Victor Fresco recalls the heartbreaking way he learned of the show's cancellation. Debuting in February 2017, and running for three seasons on Netflix, Santa Clarita Diet focuses on a married couple that is regular in every way except for one crucial detail. The wife, Sheila Hammond (Drew Barrymore), begins to crave human flesh. The horror sitcom also starred Timothy Olyphant, Liv Hewson, and Skyler Gisondo. As one of the relatively early streaming series, prior to the arrival of Disney+ and Apple TV+, the comedy was met with solid initial reactions and garnered largely positive reviews.
In a feature for The Guardian, which looks at TV show cancellations and how the creators responded, Fresco details his decision to end Santa Clarita Diet on a cliffhanger. He explained that he had a feeling that Netflix would cancel the series and didn't want to make that decision any easier:

Sydney Sweeney has been steadily acting for over 15 years, but her big break, arguably, did not come until 2019’s Euphoria. Like Euphoria, many of Sweeney’s early roles in her career have been on television, but she has expanded into movies as well with blockbusters like Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, horror like Immaculate, and rom-coms like Anyone But You.
Sweeney might have a reputation for appearing like a classic blonde bombshell, but she appears in movies and TV projects as more than simply a sex symbol. Her roles have been varied, even if they are not always as well received, like 2024’s Madame Web, her first foray into the superhero genre. "The Simpsons" is still good, you guys. Sure, it may no longer be the most innovative, influential show on TV, but it is still doing some experimenting like it used to. Recent seasons have given us plenty of entertaining, fresh, hilarious, poignant episodes that feel not like echoes of the Golden Era of "The Simpsons," but rather a new, modern Golden Era. In the last couple of years, we've had horror episodes outside of "Treehouse of Horror," a Thanksgiving horror anthology, actually dramatic episodes, and more. But arguably the biggest experiment "The Simpsons" has done in recent years came in 2021, when a season 33 episode parodied one of the best crime TV shows of modern times, and prestige TV in general.
The episode is "A Serious Flanders," a two-parter episode telling a non-canon story clearly inspired by Noah Hawley's "Fargo" TV show. In the episode, Flanders finds a duffel bag...

Deadwood is still considered one of the best Western television series of all time, attributed in no small part to the historical accuracy depicting the events that shaped the real frontier town of Deadwood. The show follows Sheriff Seth Bullock (Timothy Olyphant) and saloon-owner Al Swearengen (Ian McShane), two real figures in Deadwood's origin story. It was also populated by some of the Wild West's most enduring icons, like Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. Deadwood blended truth with fiction to tell an exciting narrative about the hardships and opportunities of the mining town.
Even though Deadwood was canceled after 3 seasons, there's no denying it's a well-documented and researched series that offers a glimpse into the harsh realities of life in the American West. The Lonely Island‘s Jorma Taccone is in good company for his next directorial project as Ben Schwartz and Sam Rockwell board the upcoming Searchlight comedy DNA. News about Taccone joining DNA as the film’s director and producer comes after he recently launched production in Finland for The Trip, an upcoming thriller starring Jason Segel and Samara Weaving.
Plot details for DNA remain a mystery, though we know Schwartz sold the concept to Searchlight in 2020. Schwartz wrote the script, while Ali Bell, Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Taccone produced through their Party Over Here studio. Rockwell gets in on the action as an executive producer alongside Schwartz.
Taconne’s other directorial efforts include shorts and music videos for The Lonely Island, Parks and Recreation, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, Miracle Workers, The Last O.G., and Paramount’s Knuckles series. His upcoming thriller, The Trip, revolves around a troubled couple who visit an isolated cabin.

We got our first look at some footage from Alien: Earth via a Disney+ promo last week, and FX/Hulu has now released a new teaser and poster for Noah Hawley's highly-anticipated series.
