Co-authored the book "The Massie Case" (1966, reissued 1984) about a sensational rape and murder case in Hawaii in the 1930s that was the basis for the novel and TV mini-series "Blood and Orchids."
Friends with actor Jonathan Harris for years. During an interview for the Archive Of American Television, Harris confirmed that Peter Packer died of Alzheimer's. Harris was heartbroken due to the fact was such a smart man and was taken by the disease.
