I missed season 1 of Flatch. Apparently the consensus is to wait till SIX episodes in before it "gets good.' So, I'm just skipping the first season and watching the first episode of season 2, mainly because it stars Jaime Pressly.
People have compared this show to "Letterkenny," which it is most certainly not anything like. I was laughing within 30 seconds of the first episode of Letterkenny. I never laughed once in the entire first episode of season 2 of "Flatch."
I was actually concerned that perhaps in my "old age" I've lost my sense of humor. Maybe I've become "out of touch" of what is funny now. No. It wasn't that at all. The people in "Flatch" aren't characters. They are people reading lines that have zero chemistry with each other, with no plot.
I was actually shocked at how much of a lack of plot there was in this season opener. I could literally go around and film random people in my small town and have a more interesting plot than what they wrote for this season opener. Also, it doesn't help that apparently everyone in Flatch are nice people. Small town life is actually the direct opposite of that.
I finally had to look up who produced this show and it turns out it is none other than Paul Feig, which made the only comedy film I've ever seen with an audience that got zero laughs.
