In Angel Falls, the teenager Winnie Carruthers (Jane Widdop) is walking with her mother Judy (Erin Boyes), her father David (Joel McHale) and her brother Jimmy (Aiden Howard) during Christmas Eve, when they stumble upon the boss of her father, Henry Water (Justin Long), who owns the Waters Industry. He asks David to go with him and tries to persuade the old Roger Evans to sell his house since he wants to build a mall. Roger does not accept the deal since the house will be inherited by his granddaughter Cara (Hana Huggins) when he dies. Soon the serial-killer "The Angel" kills Roger. Meanwhile, Winnie, who dreams on joining the photography course at NYU, and Cara, who is her best friend, are celebrating Christmas in a party together, when The Angel arrives. He kills Cara and tries to kill Jimmy, but Winnie electrocutes him to death. Soon people learn that The Angel is Henry Waters. On the next year, David is now the president of the Waters Industry and Winnie still misses Cara. She goes to a party at her boyfriend's house. She meets the outcast weirdo named Bernie Simon (Jess McLeod) and finds her boyfriend Robbie (Jason Fernandes) cheating on her with her friend Darla (Zenia Marshall). Completely upset, Winnie goes to a bridge and wishes that she had never been born. Out of the blue, the auroral lights disappear, there is a power outage in the town and The Angel hunts her down. She escapes and learns that Henry is the mayor of Angel Falls, his stupid brother Buck (Sean Depner) is the sheriff, and nobody knows her. What has happened to Winnie?
"It's a Wonderful Knife" (2023) is a silly satire to Frank Capra's masterpiece "It's a Wonderful Life". Instead of the guardian angel showing the good deeds of Jimmy Stewart's character if he was never born, in the present movie Winnie learns the number of deaths The Angel would have murdered in Angel Falls if she had not been born. The gore is intense, but the characters are unlikable, and the plot could have been better. David as the Angel, for example, is terrible. The trans Jess McLeod does not convince as a teenage girl, despite his voice tone, since he does not have a woman's face, and it is visible that he is a man. The nickname weirdo fits perfectly with him. My vote is six.
