What happened in this episode?: Jerry dating an attractive non-laugher but wants to pull her roommate instead because she's a laughoholic.
Elaine can't retrieve her own racket back.
Kramer's first name is revealed
George dates a cute skinny girl that uses the bathroom a lot.
The story and the production overview: Kramers and Jerry's storyline are the only ones most notable.
George storyline only exists for the name reveal.
When I first started watching Seinfeld. I didn't even care for Kramer's first name. Though, the apartment reveal was hilarious.
Goof: In an early episode in the series, it seemed like Kramer and his mom were close. Fast-forward to this, they don't see eye to eye.
Overall, a fun little episode.
Highlight: George and Jerry planning montage. George walking in and revealing his diabolical plan. Kramer's name reveal.
Laugh meter: 10
Girlfriend attractiveness level: Georges was a good 7. Jerry's main was a 9. Roommate was a fair 6.8.
What can be learned?: Be happy with what you got... because thing may get a little out of hand
Verdict: Cosmo.
Elaine's story is boring, Kramer's is so incredibly lame that the only thing I remember is his name being revealed and George's is kind of funny but it isn't great.
Yes, the switch storyline has one of the best dialogue in the entire series but Seinfeld is great and iconic because of the way they can interact all story lines in a perfect way and not for writing great dialogue and disconnected scenes.
The concept is brilliant, Jerry and George try and pull off the great switch from moving from one roommate to the other. It is every comedian's nightmare to be stuck with a non laughter who simply says 'That's funny' to a joke. The montage showing the duo go over various situations to pull off the switch is enjoyable to watch. The solution they come up with hilarious and the way it is received by the women.
George and Kramer also have a comedic encounter with Kramer's mother revealing the iconic character's first name which became later used in the show. Elaine tries to amusingly steal her own racket that she lent. Jerry and George definitely dominate it and take the show to even bigger heights as they explore the concept of 'The Switch'.
