The Jolly Swagmen: Part 2

Mr. Roache faces questions from Mr. Canty, who suggests that Leavis entered his house, stealing his pornography collection as a joke, with every intention of returning it. Roache states that he was tied up and robbed. The next witness, Tricia Dibden, an employee at The Bluebell, explains how she's ridiculed by the accused and heard them chatting about Roache's domestic arrangements.

It's such a funny watch; it's definitely not meant to be taken too seriously, but it's one of the most memorable episodes I've seen yet. The humor worked so well. I'm glad humor wasn't used regularly on the show; every now and then, it worked well.

I love the idea of a comedy duo using their act as part of their elaborate crime wave. It's bonkers, but a little bit clever. The running commentary from Leavis and Lovelace is hilarious.

I'm surprised that writers Peter Terson and Paul Joyce were not asked back to write another. Such a shame; they definitely had a hit with this one.

The Judge chatting to Miss Dibden is cruelly funny. The Jurors couldn't help but grin and chuckle.

The Ball in hand, I love it.
