Russert and Lewis discuss it snowing on Christmas day, with Lewis not believing Russert when she said that it snows in Bethlehem, Lewis says "it's a desert there, if it snowed the camels would all die". Snow is actually rare in Bethlehem, but not unheard of, snow is seen about once a decade on average. The area may be a desert but it can get chilly there in the winter, January is the coldest month of the year with an average low of 41°F and high of 54°F. While snow may be rare in Bethlehem and surrounding areas it is common in mountainous regions of northern Israel, there is a ski resort on Mount Hermon that is open every winter.

When Lewis and Russert are sitting in the car by the drug house, it is snowing very heavily. As they get out of the car to walk to the house, the snow stops instantly.
