I'm a big believer in practical effects, and that CGI should be used sparingly only in situations where practical effects are unrealistic to use. Too many films nowadays rely on CGI rather than falling back on it as a resort. Though there have been fantastic advances in visual effects over the years, the tangible feeling still resides with practicals.
