Directed by Sean Baker, with Simon Rex (Mikey Saber), Bree Elrod (Lexi) and Suzanna Son (Strawberry).
Another movie I saw at the beginning of 2022 that I found quite boring. And it's too long.
Mikey Saber, a porn actor in decline, returns to his hometown in Texas, penniless, where he will live with Lexi, his wife, also a former porn actress, and his mother-in-law. Both cocaine addicts and heavy smokers. He looks for a job in the city, but his resume doesn't help him, becoming a marijuana dealer. At joint sales, he meets the cashier of a diner named Strawberry, an underage teenager. A relationship is born there.
The story will revolve in this universe: mother-in-law's house, cafeteria, dating Strawberry. All very pointless.
What counts is the performance of actor Simon Rex, worthy of a best actor nomination for the Oscars 2022. There is a great scene in which he runs naked through the city streets at night.
