E! Mysteries & Scandals: Bela Lugosi (1998)
Greg Mank, Gary D. Rhodes, Martin Landau, Vampira (Maila Nurmi) Robert Wise, Robert Clarke and Forrest J. Ackerman are just a few of the people who are interviewed for this episode as they tell the story of Bela Lugosi's quick rise but sharp fall.
This episode certainly shines a spotlight on all the bad things that happened to Lugosi including the countless marriages, the bad movies and the drug addiction. The episode is highly entertaining and the interviews are quite good. Since this episode was made there have been countless other documentaries done on Lugosi that go into much more detail but for its time this is a worthy watch for fans of the star. There are scenes from some of his movies as well as an outtake from ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKNESTEIN.
