Printer types at a glance
HERMA offers a wide range of self-adhesive labels for different types of printers. Our address labels, shipping labels and adhesive labels are optimised for laser printers, inkjet printers, thermal transfer printers and many other label printers. Further information on the use of the labels after printing can be found directly on the respective product.
Laser printer
The print on laser printers is produced by a laser beam. A distinction is made between laser printers, colour laser printers and laser copiers.
Inkjet printers
Inkjet printers produce a printed image by placing small droplets of ink on the labels.
Matrix printer
A matrix printer generates its print image by setting individual small pixels.
Typewriters
A typewriter is a manually or electromechanically driven device that is used to write text using print types.
Franking machines
With a franking machine, mail items are automatically labelled with an imprint and thus franked with the necessary postage for dispatch.
Printing machines
Labels for printing machines are specially designed for processes in print shops, they are not suitable for PC labelling.
Thermal transfer printer
With thermal transfer printers, heat acts on a colour ribbon, the colour of which melts and bonds with the label material.
