PHP acosh( ) Function Last Updated : 22 Jun, 2023 Comments Improve Suggest changes Like Article Like Report In mathematics, the inverse hyperbolic functions are the inverse functions of the hyperbolic functions. For a given value of a hyperbolic function, the corresponding inverse hyperbolic function provides the corresponding hyperbolic angle. PHP provides us with builtin functions for inverse hyperbolic calculations. The acosh() function in PHP is used to find the inverse hyperbolic cosine of a number passed to it as argument. Syntax: float acosh($value) Parameters: This function accepts a single parameter $value. It is the number whose inverse hyperbolic cosine value you want to find. The value of this parameter must be in radians. Return Value: It returns a floating point number which is the inverse hyperbolic cosine value of a number passed to it as argument. Examples: Input : acosh(7) Output : 2.6339157938496 Input : acosh(56) Output : 4.7184191423729 Input : acosh(2.45) Output : 1.5447131178707 Below programs, taking different values of $value are used to illustrate the acosh() function in PHP: Passing 7 as a parameter: PHP <?php echo (acosh(7)); ?> Output:2.6339157938496Passing 56 as a parameter: PHP <?php echo (acosh(56)); ?> Output:4.7184191423729Passing 2.45 as a parameter: PHP <?php echo (acosh(2.45)); ?> Output:1.5447131178707 Reference: http://php.net/manual/en/function.acosh.php Comment More infoAdvertise with us Next Article PHP acosh( ) Function S Shubrodeep Banerjee Follow Improve Article Tags : Misc Web Technologies PHP PHP-math PHP-function +1 More Practice Tags : Misc Similar Reads PHP cosh( ) Function The cosh() function is a builtin function in PHP and is used to find the hyperbolic sine of an angle. The hyperbolic cosine of any argument arg is defined as, (exp(arg) + exp(-arg))/2 Where, exp() is the exponential function and returns e raised to the power of argument passed to it.
