NEET Biology Syllabus and Study Material: NEET commonly refers to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test in India. NEET is a national-level entrance examination for students who wish to pursue undergraduate medical and dental courses in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges in India. The NEET exam consists of three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the NEET-UG syllabus 2024. This year, the NEET UG exam will be conducted on May 5, 2024, by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam is conducted in pen and paper (offline) mode and there are 200 multiple-choice questions. The NEET exam is of maximum 720 marks with the Biology section alone worth 360 marks. The Biology section contains 90 questions, while the Botany and Zoology sections each contain 45 questions. Each correct answer is awarded four marks, and one mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. The exam duration will be 3 hours and 20 minutes. In this article, we will focus on the Biology section, which is further divided into Botany and Zoology.

Tips for Preparation For NEET Biology
Based on the previous year's question paper analysis it has been observed that the Biology section of the NEET exam is generally the easiest as around 80-85 % of questions are from the NCERT textbooks and are theoretical in nature.
- Familiarize yourself with the NEET Biology syllabus. Divide it into smaller sections to make it more manageable.
- Most NEET questions come directly or indirectly from the NCERT book. The diagrams in the NCERT book are informative and thorough.
- Students must take as many mock tests as possible before appearing for NEET. It help you understand the exam pattern, question types, difficulty level and identify your strengths and weaknesses.
- Make a timetable for your studies and go through the details gradually.
- Prepare small notes and review biology notes.
- Use flowcharts and diagrams to help you revise.
- Practice questions and previous year papers.
