Microsoft Edge is a popular browser. It is used by a lot of users throughout the globe. This browser is closely associated with Microsoft services. Some Microsoft services can only be accessible from the Edge browser. For such reasons, Microsoft Edge is an important browser nowadays. Since the discontinuation of Internet Explorer, users are using this software in large numbers. Microsoft Teams, Forms, etc. can easily be accessed from this browser. But using this browser has a drawback. This browser has many setting options provided there. Users can't able to modify those settings as per their needs. As users are unable to find out which setting is significant for them & which settings are not. So, of that unawareness, the Edge can malfunction. One of the malfunctions is that it slows down with use. After using a few months, it goes slow. This takes more time to open one single webpage. The users often find it as an effect of junk storage. But the problem arises from the inappropriate settings. Changing those settings will permanently stop this issue.
Fixing Microsoft Edge Slow Speed:
Step 1: At first, we need to open the Edge browser. Then we have to open the settings of the browser. For that purpose, we need to click on the three dots there. Those three dots are available on the right-hand side of the browser. Now, after clicking on the dots. There will be a lot of options present. We have to choose the Setting option.
Step 2: Now, on the settings page, we have to decide the Privacy, Search, And Service options. We need to click on that.
Step 3: Now, we have to scroll down on the new tab there. We have to find out the Secure DNS option. We have to disable the option by clicking on the button. This setting need to be closed at all time. This setting will change the DNS at the time of browsing on Edge. This creates a slow-down problem on Microsoft Edge. After that, we can close down the browser.
Step 4: Now, we have to open the settings of the device. There we need to find out the option Network & Internet. We have to click on it.
Step 5: After that, a new window will open in front of us. There we need to click on the Proxy settings. This setting is available on the right-hand side of the screen.
Step 6: There, we need to turn off the automatic detect setting option. This option needs to close down all the time. This option will always find out the proxy setting while serving on the internet. We have to click on the button there. This needs to be closed down. After making the changes, we can close the settings page.
Note: This is a very useful option. This option not only helps to increase the speed of the Edge. But it also helps to increase the speed of all browsers on the machine. This is a common option for all browsers. This option is related to all types of browsers on the device. This option will always need to be closed down.
Step 7: Now, again we have to open the Edge browser. There we again move to the settings option. On the settings page, we have to search for Startup Boost.
Step 8: Then the Startup Boost option will be available in front of us. We need to enable this option. This option helps to speed up the Edge browser whenever it is started. This helps to make a quick start on Microsoft Edge. After making the changes, we can close down the window.
Disclaimer: It is advisable to perform all the steps there. Not performing any single step will cause the existence of the problem. If users perform all the operations, then there is no doubt that the performance of the Edge will increase. But if they do not perform any single step, then the issue may exist in the browser.
Hence, we have successfully fixed Microsoft Edge's slow speed issue.
