Check if you were right - full answer with solution below.

Solution:

Way 1:

Firstly, break each of the pills in half, and as you do this, pop one half in your mouth and lay the other half aside for tomorrow.
When he's done this with all four pills, he will have consumed one whole red pill and one whole blue pill, and will have the same leftover halves for the next dose.

Way 2:

Another way the blind man can ensure he takes exactly one red pill and one blue pill:

  • Crush All Pills: The blind man can start by crushing all four pills into a fine powder.
  • Mix the Powder: Mix the powders together thoroughly to ensure the powders are evenly distributed.
  • Divide the Mixture: Divide the mixture into two equal parts. Since the powders were mixed thoroughly, each part will contain an equal amount of all four pills.
  • Take One Part : By consuming one of these parts, the blind man will effectively ingest half of the powder from each of the four pills. This means he will take exactly one red pill and one blue pill. This method ensures that he takes exactly one red pill and one blue pill, even though he cannot see them.
