As someone who's grasp of code is weak at best it helps me figure out what I need or where I should go next when I would otherwise be lost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, it's hard to dislike technology when it can make it work for me so easily like this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I used ActiveState's Eclipse plugin for Tcl/Tk and I was able to debug my application with it. I also used ActiveState Perl environment to run Perl scripts. I was able to use 3rd party library LCSS inside ActiveState Perl environment, while other environments had issues to run it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am not aware of things that are not working well. I didn't have any issues with ActiveState tools for Tcl/Tk and Perl. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Komodo IDE (Integrated development environment) has been a critical part of my programming journey for more than a decade. This is a superlative elucidation for programmers like me who seem to be devoted in the newest cross-platform IDE while getting rid of the annoyance and frequent safety troubles without needing to install JRE. Komodo IDE vivid interface can be a huge turn-off for many new users wanting to shift to this. Also, the basic version is free, but the paid version (which has all the main functionalities) comes at a hefty price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Komodo lets you create projects of multiple types and manage all of your code in one central area. Code syntax highlighting is invaluable, and Komodo does this in many different languages. Komodo. I also really love how you can connect straight to your sites and push your code quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve, although that is true of any IDE. Komodo does so much that it is easy to be overwhelmed when first starting out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are numerous things that I like best. But the most important thing that saves me the most time is the single step debugging and real time variable preview. I get hired to fix problems and errors in PHP and the debugger makes my live a lot easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far I have not found anything that I dislike. All the little annoying things have been eradicated over the years and the current version is pure perfection for my needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about Komodo Edit is that you have full control of the application's colors. You can include, choose colors for highlighting the code syntax. I like that the interface is Mac style, although I am running it on Windows, I almost always work on Mac. It is an editor that starts very fast and can even do it with a lot of add-ons. Also, it allows me to run from PowerShell. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although it is true, it is a very complete program, to have all its functionalities you must acquire the Komodo IDE, if you are not willing, you must comply with the tools offered by Komodo Edit. Beyond that, I feel grateful for the functions that this program gives me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I must have used Komodo for Perl coding since version 1 came out. Except for version 9, it has not let me down. I love that I can have an interactive Perl Debugger on windows, I don't know if there is any other tool out there that can do this.
Editing of code is just natural, syntax highlighting and checking works. Auto-complete works. It all just works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Over the years features I love have either disappeared or got smaller, good thing is many new ones were added. Around version 9 there were some dramatic changes that took me a long time to adjust to. There have been more drastic changes recently, but I can see where they are going.
Development has slowed down, but It's not missing much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
