I subscribed to the 10TB iDrive Personal Yearly to back up 2 Mac Mini's of 2 TB each. I really like the fact that the 10TB Personal Yearly Scheme provides you with a Cloud backup space of 10TB and a Cloud Drive storage also of 10TB.

I like the granularity of the features which means that you can deploy a custom backup scheme.

It can do backups of network and external drives.

iDrive cannot do a full machine backup or a clone backup of macOS machines like it does with Windows machines.

Not much. I would however put in a wish list that wholes sets of files can be restored in one go from a version controlled backup rather than one file at a time. I chose between these. iDrive was the solution for me. It offers 5TB of storage at an affordable price. It offers 10 GB of storage in the free plan, so I could try it out before I made a final decision. So what I had written down for later became an immediate solution.

I registered in the system with the 10 GB option. I downloaded and installed the Windows client. And I immediately backed up a larger directory from the SSD to see how it works. Wow! I didn't have to do anything, it backed up. I immediately tested it by making changes and saving again to see if it would do its job reliably. Not surprisingly, it did.

The surprise came the next day when it turned out that the client program also had a default scheduling task, meaning my cloud backup was updated to the given library.

At the same time, I received the subscription offer for the 5 TB package with a 90% discount for the first year. I bought the storage space for 12,5 USD for 1 year. I've been using IDrive Backup for a while, and overall, it's a solid solution for cloud backups. The initial upload took some time (around 60 hours for 1TB), but that's expected for large datasets. Once the initial backup is complete, incremental backups run smoothly and efficiently.

I found iDrive while searching for a cheap way to backup some files I needed to clear off of an external hard drive. They were offering a very affordable promotion for the first year so I figured I would try it and I've been very happy so far. It was very easy to backup my files and, while my files were very large, the backup seemed to go very quickly. I have used a competitor's product and although good, it had limitations in that whenever you view photos in the backup, it didn’t show thumbnail previews or open the photos. So, I looked for an alternative and found iDrive. I like iDrive as it shows you clearly all your files live in a ‘finder’ like interface like on my MAC, and also it shows thumbnail previews of images so you can see what's what. I find it fast to navigate, and I like the fact that you can back up more than one device, so for example, I can back up 2 computers, one at work and one at home, my phone and a large external NAS. So far, it has worked flawlessly. I run an automatic schedule to back up all of my data nightly, and I have verified the backups, and they work perfectly. Lo único que no he resuelto completamente aún es una solución de múltiples copias de seguridad, donde estoy respaldando algunas cosas en la nube (diariamente) y otras cosas en un disco local (semanalmente). Parece ser posible, pero eso no es tan sencillo dentro de la aplicación todavía. No quería interrumpir la copia de seguridad en la nube para configurar la copia de seguridad semanal local. Nuevamente, creo que es posible, pero la interfaz allí no es tan clara como podría ser. Hace que casi parezca que es una cosa o la otra, pero eso no tendría sentido.
