Genuinely the best haircut I’ve gotten in NYC. I’ve gone to quite a few different salons dedicated to curly hair, including traveling all the way to Jersey to get a proper cut. And in all instances I’ve left underwhelmed, with a cut that was not what I had asked for. This experience was the exact opposite! She took the time to take into account the different curl patterns I have, my daily styling routine, what I wanted and what was achievable. I left the appointment looking and feeling amazing! For anyone out there with 3c hair who has struggled to find a proper cut, definitely visit Chi!

They did a great job with my hair color. The salon is decorated nicely and the staff was welcoming. It was confusing which side to go in, as one side is presented as a separate barber shop business, but that door was open and I was told to wait there. They told me the service my Groupon was for wouldn't be right for my hair, and I should do a different service, but wouldn't get the discount and would have to pay an additional fee. I went with that option as it made the most sense to me. The staff hardly spoke to me at all during the service and may not speak much English, but they were friendl

I recently visited Jamal Amal Salon to get my hair braided, and I had such a great experience! The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and polite, making me feel welcomed from the moment I walked in. They took their time to ensure my hair was styled perfectly, and the attention to detail was amazing.The atmosphere was warm and inviting, which made the entire process so relaxing. I left the salon feeling confident, refreshed, and absolutely loving my braids! Giulia knocked it out of the park! She took my dry, damaged, long hair and make it look healthy, chic, and modern. She did an excellent job communicating with me as to what she was going to do, how much she was going to cut, etc. which I definitely appreciated since I wanted to remain as much length as possible. I found my new salon!

Everyone at the salon was very nice and welcoming. I was even offered a coffee when I arrived! Hairdresser Sandra was very knowledgeable and gave me a beautiful curly haircut. The hair washing experience was also amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing first time experience here! I was lucky enough to have Inesa who is both talented and engaging with all her customers. She did amazing job picking out the best color that would blend with my natural hair color and it turned out better than expected! I highly recommend this salon if you are looking for great customer service with beautiful “happy” results! :)

Very professional. Beautiful salon, and it smells amazing! G made is so comfortable and extremely friendly. On top of all that, she did an amazing job. I most definitely will be making frequent visits whenever I'm in the city and/or need a fresh cut. You did amazing G. I cannot recommend Self Salon enough! Bianca took the time to listen to the change I wanted in my hair but also guided me through the services that I needed to get me to my dream hair!! I had balayage with some low lights to break up the previous grown out balayage whilst also offering a low maintenance color. The salon itself has the most beautiful lighting and all of the stylist were beyond lovely! I’d highly recommend to anyone in the area 💇🏼‍♀️ 10/10 experience!

Laiz was absolutely wonderful! She was super professional, communicative, provided great tips on how to maintain and care for my curly hair. I really enjoyed my visit with her and would recommend her to anyone. Also, her salon is spacious and beautiful. A gem in NYC :) Obrigada Laiz!

My time at Toka Salon today was excellent from the welcome to the hair washing, and the cutting by Joseph, who is an expert and an artist!

Fabio is, quite simply, a hairstyle artist. I moved away from the area and was gone for five years. When I moved back, I returned to Fabio's Hair and Color Studio! He remembered me, and it felt like a homecoming. Fabio gives you his full attention and is an expert in all he does. He even started his own hair product line and they smell amazing! The staff is very welcoming and friendly, too, and the salon is bright and beautifully decorated. Very glad to be back! :)

I had a great experience at Casagrande Salon! I would definitely recommend a haircut with Laíz who takes her time, provides great recommendations, and ensures she gives you the best experience. Laíz eased all my anxieties and I walked out of the salon excited about my cut. Additionally, the salon is hijabi friendly and there is a private room in the back where hair can be cut if you need it! Laíz is understanding and has a great presence which made me feel very comfortable!! This was my first time at Casagrande Salon, but it certainly won’t be my last.

Everyone in the salon is super friendly. I got partial balayage, haircut and style done by Sarah. She is such a doll, explained every step and was very attentive during the whole process. Will not go anywhere else for color or cuts. I had a great experience.

Eiji is a genius! And everyone at the salon is wonderful. I travel from Washington, DC to have my hair cut and can’t imagine going anywhere else!
