Nikita Porwal hails from Ujjain, a city surrounded by captivating stories and mythologies, and her curiosity was ignited at a young age. Raised to be a thinker, Nikita was encouraged to question rather than blindly follow, a mindset that led her to explore traditions and beliefs. This quest for answers deepened her understanding of her spiritual roots and sparked a passion for storytelling.
Her love for the stage blossomed as she immersed herself in theatre, performing in over 60 plays and penning a 250-page play titled "Krishna Leela." Though stage acting remains her first love, Nikita is also eager to master the art of camerawork. She has already landed a primary role in a feature film showcased at international festivals, which will soon be released in India.
Beyond the spotlight, Nikita's compassion extends to the welfare of animals, a cause close to her heart. She hopes to use her voice to inspire kindness and compassion towards all living beings, making a meaningful difference.

Q&A

Your motto in life: Be a life that matters, a loss that's felt.

The most influential person in your life: I'm the most influential person. When I look back and see how far I've come, I realise I have the power to shape my future. This motivates me to be better every day and reach my full potential.

The proudest moment of your life: The proudest moment of my life was when I first saw my picture plastered on billboards across the city. It was a childhood dream finally lived, and witnessing my parents' beaming pride was an utterly ecstatic experience.

Words that best define your personality: Go-getter, animal-lover, artist, dramatic, daddy's girl, spiritual, hopeful, selective

The beauty queen who inspires you the most and why?: Aishwarya Rai epitomises elegance and intellect, encouraging me like no other. She embodies the perfect blend of beauty and brains, showcasing a captivating combination of poise, sharp wit, and effortless charm. Her ability to proudly celebrate her Indian heritage while embracing modernity with ease is truly admirable, making her a shining example of a woman who embodies both grace and substance.

What does Femina Miss India mean to you?: I'm a person of transformation and growth, and Femina Miss India is a journey of self-discovery and growth where I can refine my thoughts, challenge my limits, and become a better version of myself. It's about transforming into a confident, solution-focused individual. And the coveted blue crown of Miss World means the world to me.

A social cause close to your heart and why: Animal welfare is a cause that deeply moves me. The thought of innocent creatures suffering at the hands of cruelty and neglect is utterly heartbreaking. As humans, we don't own the Earth - we're mere custodians entrusted with its care. Our gift of reason and development should not only serve our own interests but also be used to benefit the creatures who depend on us entirely. We need to cherish and protect them, preserve the harmony of our shared world, and recognise that our actions have a profound impact on their lives."

What is the craziest rumour you have ever heard about yourself?: The craziest rumour I've heard about myself is that I'm into girls because of my close friendship with my partner in crime, Saloni! We're just two free-spirited women who love and support each other, and people can't seem to understand our inseparable bond. The jokes she cracks only fuel speculation. But when someone whispered about us being more than friends, Saloni shot back, 'Our love is pure and platonic... but our sass is undeniable!' We burst out laughing.

Three qualities that every woman must possess: Leadership, Contentment and Financial Independence.

What are your expectations from Femina Miss India 2024?: Miss India, to me, is a journey of transformation, empowerment, and national pride. I expect to emerge more refined, compassionate, and purpose-driven, with a deeper understanding of myself and the world. I expect to be challenged, inspired, and transformed, discovering new strengths and passions. And I expect to make India proud, not just by winning a title, but by embodying the country's spirit, values, and culture on the global stage.

If you win Miss India, what would be your first big splurge?: Winning Miss India would be amazing! My first splurge would be paying off my rent for a year. Mumbai is way too expensive, and as a model actor, my paychecks can be a bit of a gamble. So, it would be awesome just to set aside my rent worries for a while and enjoy my crown (and maybe even treat myself to some extra pizza nights)!

If you were granted one wish, what would you ask for?: If I had just one wish, it would be to land a primary role in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. His mastery of portraying his muses is unparalleled, transporting them to a world beyond reality. I long to be immersed in his creations' grand, larger-than-life universe. As an actor, my ultimate dream is to work under the guidance of such a visionary artist, and I would devote myself entirely to the role, pouring my heart and soul into it.

What would be your advice for the future generation?: My advice to future generations would be to use time wisely. While gadgets and technological advancements may give the illusion of saving time, they often get diverted elsewhere. Don't let the convenience of technology fool you - stay mindful of how you spend your time, and make intentional choices to prioritise what truly matters.
