Particles in the nanoscale range can be created with the use of spray drying, which is referred to as nano spray dryers. Spray drying is a gentle approach that is used for the production of powders with a predetermined particle size out of solutions, dispersions, and emulsions. This method is widely used for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, food, biotechnology, and other industrial goods.
In the past, the constraints of spray drying included having a minimum particle size of 2 micrometers, having a maximum yield of approximately 70 percent, and having a minimum sample volume of 50 milliliters for devices that were used in a laboratory setting. In recent times, the minimal particle size has been decrease to 300 nanometers, yields of up to 90 percent are attainable, and the sample quantity can be as tiny as one milliliter.
