I’ve had quite a diverse and eventful journey. After attending several colleges and exploring multiple career fields, I honed my baking skills as a self-taught baker, experimenting with recipes and techniques on my own. During this time, my dedication and love for the craft ultimately led me to pursue formal education, concluding with my graduation from culinary school.
I found myself working in a bakery, a place where my passion for baking began to truly flourish. Unfortunately, an injury interrupted my work at the bakery, leading me to adapt by working from home. Resilience, adaptability, and a passion for baking have driven me to continue pursuing my goals despite various challenges.
Cake decorating is a vibrant, creative industry that offers vast opportunities for those with a passion for design and flavor. For autistic individuals, this profession can be especially gratifying, as it allows for the expression of our unique strengths such as attention to detail, creativity, and a methodical approach to tasks. However, navigating the path to a livable wage as an autistic individual comes with its own set of trials and rewards.
